Worship

We worship idols.

We worship frames.

We worship places.

We worship names.

We worship trees.

We worship fruits.

We worship animals.

We worship roots.

We worship the ocean.

We worship rivers.

We worship our cars.

When they're delivered.

We worship people.

We worship saints.

We worship money.

We worship grains.

We worship the whole damn world

Before we die.

Then why is the worship of parents

That we deny?

We always fail to see the value in stuff that is so close to us that we take them for granted...

A simple & sweet poem always lights up the face and touches the heart :) Poetry is something that definitely brings a smile on to my face! Quite a thought provoking one this is..there is no 'screaming-over-the-roof-top' effect here..The point is driven home subtly :) Good job Saurabh!

I DO.
True to its literal meaning, I'm an atheist. But I've always believed that my conscience is my God, and my parents are my conscience. So yeah, I do worship them.
Beautiful post, dude.

Hey, that was a very thoughtful and thought provoking poem. I don't know whether I worship my parents or not, but surely I love them more than I do love anyone or anything. I surely value them.

A beautiful post... keep them coming.

I guess we do not realise the importance of our eyes while we can see... ditto parents.

Though i dont worship anything....
you might have come across these lines in so called sacred sanskrit..

Matrudevibhava and pitrudevobhava....
and most of us love our parents and i call it worship....may be it is just a nomenclature i guess

Very well-put. Its sad that many of us forget those very people who brought us into this world.
